These FIBC are manufactured from ventilated Polypropylene (PP) woven fabrics (LENO FABRICS) that permit airflow through the bag, making them particularly suitable for the packaging of potatoes. The ventilation lines prevent the potatoes and onions from sprouting. A duffel or flap is often used as a top closure, and a bottom spout is utilized as a discharge facility. For seed potatoes, PP netting is used on two side panels to allow greater air permeability. Potato suppliers have found FIBCs advantageous for handling, storing, and transporting their products in preference to 25/50kg woven sacks or potato boxes.
